Apply for OPVC Head Coach/Trainer Position
Part-time Salary (2 positions available)
This candidate is needed to coach our training teams, skills classes, camps, clinics, small group lessons, etc. This candidate will directly impact the player's improvement in the sport of volleyball and curriculum enhancement for all our programs. This candidate will also be required to continuously keep updated on the latest volleyball training methods, keeping our volleyball training up to date, and to efficiently ensure the growth of our participating athletes and programs.
HOURS
20 hours/week, min. of 2 days of evening hours. Sept-May hours are typically 4pm-9:30pm. June-Aug hours vary with daytime starting at 9am & some evenings.

QUALIFICATIONS

LEADERSHIP: Must have excellent leadership qualities with the ability to have confidence in talking to athletes, explaining skills and drills in a positive manner with a confident voice and the ability to run drills and a practice/class session with confidence.

PEOPLE SKILLS: Due to this position's high level of interactions with youth players and adults (parents), this candidate must have excellent people skills which requires the ability to speak in a positive manner.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This person has to have good communication skills in person and via email/phone. Must reply back to emails in the appropriate time.

This person is energetic, creative and organized and excited to be part of a team and help continue to grow and develop OPVC. Have a passion for youth athletics and volleyball and a strong commitment to be part of a team.

WORK ETHIC: This person needs to be on time and understand the requirements of the job while performing the job he/she needs to adhere to workplace procedures, policies and ethics, who displays calmness and composure at all times.

Willingness to coach all skill levels and all age groups. Willingness to coach groups and or private lessons. (private lessons can be an added compensation for this position)

EXPERIENCE:

Volleyball Coaching and/or Playing experience required for this position which can include former college players, high school volleyball coaches, college club players, youth volleyball coaches, former college coaches, graduate college students. Both Male and females are encouraged to apply.

The general knowledge of all the volleyball skills and how to teach each of the skills. Must have knowledge of volleyball rules and team offense and team defense, with background experience in this as a player or a coach.
