Marlene Montgomery
2025 16-3 Head Coach
WELCOME TO OPVC!
Marlene Montgomery moved to Cincinnati 15 years ago from Wilmington, Ohio. Cincinnati gave her more opportunities to coach. She has coached high school volleyball wherever there has been a need: Cincinnati Country Day, Deer Park High School, and currently, Walnut Hills High School.
Her passion lies with coaching club volleyball. Marlene has coached club for 7 years. During that time, her teams have won multiple tournaments at the Regional, American, and National levels (Club and Premier divisions). Marlene's goal is that "Each girl grows as a player and as a person during the season." Marlene strives to use a positive coaching style and to support her athletes however she possibly can.
Volleyball has always been a big part of Marlene's life. Her family plays together and coaches together. You can find Alex (son) and Michelle (daugher-in-law), Seth (son), and Dale (husband) playing at Grand Sands at various times throughout the week.
Off the court, she teaches math at Walnut Hills High School. She loves being Nana to the most wonderful grandkids, Chester, 3 yrs old, and Reece, 6 months old.
